美國(guó)關(guān)于紡織品和服裝的易燃性的法令主要為《易燃性織物法案》（Flammable Fabric Act－FFA）及其該法令下的實(shí)施條例。FFA是美國(guó)國(guó)會(huì)于1953年頒布的，并于1954年和1967年進(jìn)行了修訂。1972年，美國(guó)成立了美國(guó)消費(fèi)者產(chǎn)品安全委員會(huì)（CPSC），負(fù)責(zé)制定和修改紡織產(chǎn)品易燃性相關(guān)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。CPSC將FFA編入了CFR第16卷中，即16 CFR part 1609，并于1975年制定了以下主要紡織產(chǎn)品的易燃性標(biāo)準(zhǔn)：
